These terms govern the rental of any vehicle from Megha Bike Rental (“we”, “us”). By taking delivery of a vehicle you accept them on behalf of yourself and every person who rides it.

- The rider must hold a valid, current driving licence in their own name that covers the class of vehicle being rented. Learner's licences are not accepted.
- The rider must be at least TBD years of age.

2. Documents and deposit
- At pickup you must produce the original driving licence and an original government photo ID. We keep photocopies or photographs for our records.
- A refundable security deposit of TBD is payable before the vehicle is handed over.
- The deposit is returned after the vehicle is inspected and found undamaged, normally within TBD of return.
- We may retain all or part of the deposit against damage, missing fuel, traffic fines, late return, or missing accessories.
3. Rental period and charges
- One rental day is 24 hours from the time of handover.
- Rates shown on this website are per day, in Indian Rupees, and are subject to change without notice until a booking is confirmed.
- Late return is charged at TBD. A grace period of TBD applies.
- Minimum rental period: TBD. Maximum rental period: TBD.
- Payment terms: TBD (advance, on pickup, cash or online).
4. Fuel
- The vehicle is supplied with between half a litre and one litre of petrol, sufficient to reach the nearest fuel station.
- The cost of all fuel used during the rental is borne by the rider.
- Fuel remaining in the tank at the end of the rental is not refunded.
5. Hotel pickup and drop
- We can deliver a vehicle to, and collect it from, your hotel or homestay.
- A delivery and collection charge applies, based on distance: TBD.
- Delivery is subject to availability and to the address being reachable.
- Someone authorised to sign the rental agreement and produce documents must be present at delivery.
6. Helmets and safety
- Two helmets are provided with every vehicle at no extra charge, one for the rider and one for the pillion.
- Helmets remain our property and must be returned with the vehicle. A lost or damaged helmet is chargeable.
- Wearing a helmet is required by law for the rider and pillion, at all times.
- Riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and ends the rental immediately, with no refund.
- Carrying more than the number of persons the vehicle is designed for is prohibited.
7. Where the vehicle may be taken
- Permitted area: TBD — confirm whether the vehicle may leave Meghalaya, and any conditions or charges that apply.
- Racing, stunt riding, off-road use beyond the vehicle's design, and commercial use including carrying paying passengers or goods are prohibited.
8. Damage, breakdown and theft
- The rider is responsible for the vehicle from handover until it is returned and inspected.
- Report any breakdown, accident, damage or theft to us immediately by phone.
- Do not arrange repairs without our prior approval. Unapproved repair costs are not reimbursed.
- In case of an accident, an FIR or police report may be required before any insurance claim can proceed.
- Liability for damage: TBD — set out what the rider pays for minor damage, major damage, and total loss.
- Every vehicle carries the third-party insurance required by law. Any cover beyond that is TBD.
9. Traffic fines and legal compliance
- All traffic violations, challans and parking fines incurred during the rental are the rider's responsibility, including any received by us afterwards.
- The rider must comply with the Motor Vehicles Act and all local traffic law, and must carry the vehicle documents at all times.
10. Cancellation and no-show
- Cancellation policy: TBD — state the notice period and what, if anything, is refundable.
- No-show policy: TBD.
- If we cannot supply the booked vehicle, we will offer an equivalent alternative or a full refund of any advance paid.
11. Our right to end a rental
We may recover the vehicle at any time, without refund, if these terms are breached, if the vehicle is being misused, or if we reasonably believe it or the rider is at risk.
12. Limitation of liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including missed travel connections, cancelled bookings or lost trip time, arising from a breakdown, accident or non-availability of a vehicle. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Shillong, Meghalaya.
